Netsunoyu, where the yumomi shows are held, is right next to Yubatake.

Yumomi Performance
Yumomi (湯もみ) in Kusatsu is a unique and time-honored way of cooling hot spring water without adding cold water. Using large wooden paddles, locals stir the steaming water to bring it to a comfortable bathing temperature, preserving its rich minerals and natural benefits.
The experience is more than just practical—it’s a cultural performance. Held daily at the Netsunoyu building beside Yubatake, the Yumomi show features traditional folk songs and dances performed by a local troupe. The 30-minute event even invites some visitors to join in the stirring, making it a fun and interactive way to learn about Kusatsu’s onsen traditions.
