In Tottori, the famous Sand Dunes are the top attraction and can be easily reached by bus from Tottori Station. Other sights like the Tottori Castle Ruins and Kannon-in Temple are closer to the station, mostly on the northeast side, and are easy to get to by walking or a short bus ride.
The city has two loop buses that are great for tourists. The Kururi Bus runs every day, costs just 100 yen per ride, and stops at popular spots near the city center (but not the sand dunes). The Kirin Jishi Loop Bus runs only on weekends and holidays, connecting the station with the sand dunes, castle ruins, and Tottori Port. It costs 300 yen per ride or 600 yen for a day pass, with buses coming 1–2 times per hour.
