Getting around

In the Yaeyama Islands, ferries provide convenient connections between Ishigaki Island and other nearby islands. Yonaguni and Hateruma also offer flights to and from Ishigaki. It’s also easy to travel to other islands in the Yaeyama group. To reach Kohama Island, take a 30-minute high-speed boat ride from Ishigaki for 1,560 yen, with departures every 1-2 hours. For Kuro Island, it’s another 30-minute boat ride for 1,680 yen, with boats running every 4 hours. Hateruma Island is farther, with a 60-minute boat ride costing 4,530 yen and 2-3 departures per day.
