Hanairaka Information Center (今井町観光案内所, Imaichō Kankō Annaijo) is the perfect starting point for exploring Imaicho’s history. Just southeast of the preserved town area, this small center offers a great overview of the area’s past. Inside, you’ll find a detailed scale model of the entire town that helps visitors understand the layout and charm of this old merchant district. There are also historic photographs and displays that show what life used to be like in the Edo period.

The center gives context to the old buildings you’ll see when walking around Imaicho. It connects the stories of the town’s architecture and its people, including the rise of merchant families and how the town once thrived through trade. The Hanairaka Information Center is in Imaicho Town. You can get there easily. It's a short walk from Yagi-Nishiguchi Station or about 10 minutes from Yamato-Yagi Station. You can also rent a bike at Kashiharajingu-mae Station and ride there in 15 minutes.
