Sainokawara Park

Sainokawara Park (西の河原公園, Sainokawara Kōen) is a tranquil natural retreat located just a short walk from the heart of Kusatsu. The park is known for its bubbling hot spring water, which flows through warm streams and pools, winding across the valley. A distinctive hot water waterfall cascades down, adding to the serene ambiance, while a free foot bath near the base offers visitors a perfect spot to relax and soak their feet in the healing waters. The highlight of the park is the Sainokawara Rotemburo, a large public outdoor bath nestled in nature. With two spacious, gender-separated pools, each accommodating up to 100 people, this open-air bath allows visitors to enjoy a soothing soak while being surrounded by fresh mountain air and stunning natural beauty. The combination of hot spring waters and the peaceful environment makes it a perfect place to unwind and experience Kusatsu’s onsen culture.
