Cruises leave from Matsushima Pier (5–10 min walk from Matsushima Kaigan Station) and from Shiogama Pier (near Hon-Shiogama Station).

Matsushima Bay
Matsushima Bay (松島湾, Matsushima-wan) has been admired for centuries as one of Japan’s three most beautiful views, alongside Miyajima and Amanohashidate. The bay is famous for its peaceful waters and over 200 small islands, each covered in pine trees, creating a magical and calming landscape. It’s a place where nature and history come together in a breathtaking way.
One of the best ways to enjoy the bay is by taking a sightseeing cruise. Several companies offer boat rides that circle the bay or connect to nearby Shiogama. The cruises usually last around 50 minutes and cost about 1500 yen. If you’d like a more comfortable ride, first-class seats are available for a small extra fee. Whether you're relaxing on the deck or taking photos of the pine-covered islets, the views from the water are unforgettable.
