Mito Plum Festival (水戸の梅まつり, Mito no Ume Matsuri) is a colorful spring event held every year in Kairakuen Garden, one of Japan’s most beautiful traditional gardens. From mid-February to late March, over 3,000 plum trees bloom in shades of white, pink, and red, creating a stunning landscape and filling the air with a sweet fragrance. Visitors can enjoy plum-themed treats, performances, and photo spots throughout the garden.

The festival is one of the oldest and most loved in the region, attracting many locals and tourists alike. Special events, traditional music, and evening light-ups bring extra charm to the garden.
