In Magome, most people enjoy walking. The town is part of the old Nakasendo Trail, and you can take a peaceful 2–3 hour walk through forests and small villages to nearby Tsumago. The trail is easy to follow and full of natural beauty.
In Magome, you can also get around by bus or taxi. Buses run from Nakatsugawa Station to Magome and between Magome and Tsumago. Taxis are available if you prefer more comfort. There’s even a luggage service that can send your bags ahead while you walk.
