Okada Museum of Art

The Okada Museum of Art (岡田美術館, Okada Bijutsukan) is a premier destination for lovers of East Asian art. Opened in 2013, this spacious five-story private museum houses over 5,000 works spanning from antiquity to the modern era, including Chinese bronzes, Korean ceramics, Japanese lacquerware, and iconic paintings by masters such as Hokusai and Taikan. The first two floors are dedicated to Chinese and Japanese ceramics—from archaeological relics to refined Ming and Qing porcelain—while the upper levels showcase Japanese paintings and decorative arts from the Edo period onward. Multilingual labels (in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean) enhance accessibility for international visitors.

Set amid lush natural surroundings, the museum offers more than just visual art. Its beautifully landscaped Japanese garden, seasonal teahouse, and café with a hot spring foot bath create a harmonious blend of culture and relaxation.
