Takamuro Suikoen Park
Takamuro Suikoen Park (たかむろ水光園, Takamuro Suikoen) is a serene folk village built around a large, picturesque pond, offering a glimpse into Japan’s rural past. Originally developed as part of Tono City's water management system, the park has since been transformed into a cultural and recreational space. It features a beautifully preserved traditional farmhouse, historic warehouses, and exhibition buildings filled with farming tools, household items, and displays that reflect the everyday life of earlier generations. Surrounded by trees and still waters, the park provides a tranquil setting that captures the essence of countryside Japan.
What makes Takamuro Suikoen especially enjoyable is its variety of interactive experiences. Visitors can try their hand at fishing, traditional cooking, or seasonal outdoor activities—making it a great destination for families, groups, or anyone interested in hands-on learning. Right next door is a public hot spring facility, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Blending cultural heritage, natural beauty, and local hospitality, Takamuro Suikoen Park offers a peaceful and enriching escape in the heart of Tono.
