In Yufuin, most attractions are easily accessible on foot. The main walking route from Yufuin Station to Lake Kinrinko is about 1.5 kilometers long and takes 20–30 minutes to walk, not including stops at shops or cafes along the way.

Some hot springs in Yufuin are located farther out and are harder to reach without a car. Renting a bicycle is a great way to explore quickly or visit more remote baths. Bikes can be rented at Yufuin Station for 250 yen per hour or 1250 yen per day. Taxis and rental cars are also available, with rental outlets in Yufuin and even more options nearby in Beppu.
