Getting around

In Dazaifu, the main attractions are close together and easy to explore on foot, all within 1.5 kilometers of Dazaifu Station. A convenient route is to arrive at Dazaifu Station, walk through the area visiting the sights, and then depart from Tofuromae Station.

You can also take the local Mahoroba buses, which stop at popular spots like Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Kanzeonji Temple, and the Government Office Ruins. Buses run about every 20 minutes, cost 100 yen per ride, or 300 yen for a day pass. Renting a bike at Dazaifu Station for 500 yen a day is another fun way to explore.
