Senjogahara is easily accessible by Tobu bus from Tobu Nikko Station (and JR Nikko Station). Buses heading to Yumoto Onsen depart one or two times per hour. The 70-minute ride costs around 1700 yen and is covered by the Nikko All Area Pass.
You can also purchase a 2-day pass for unlimited bus rides between Nikko and Yumoto Onsen for 3500 yen. For the Senjogahara Plateau Nature Trail, get off at the Yumoto Onsen, Ryuzu no Taki, or Akanuma bus stops. During autumn, expect heavy traffic, especially on weekends.
