To get to Keino Matsubara Beach, take a 10-minute taxi ride after getting off at the Rikuno-ko Seitan Highway Bus Stop. You can also walk—it's about 30 minutes on foot through peaceful local streets. The path is flat and easy, and along the way, you’ll see signs pointing toward the beach and pine forest.

Keino Matsubara Beach
Keino Matsubara Beach (慶野松原海水浴場, Keino Matsubara Kaisuiyokujō) is known for its striking coastline, where a 2.5-kilometer stretch of white sand meets a lush forest of over 50,000 black pine trees. Designated a national scenic spot in 1928 and part of Setonaikai National Park since 1955, it offers stunning views, especially at sunset. It's considered one of the best sunset locations in Japan, with vivid colors reflecting over the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea.
Visitors enjoy a variety of activities year-round—swimming in summer, romantic walks along the Proposal Road with love vow tiles, and admiring glowing sea fireflies from April to September. There’s a free campground, fireworks in July, and nearby accommodations like the Keino Matsubara-so guest house, known for hot springs and sunset views. Traditional crafts, zodiac art, and easy access to food and shops make it a peaceful and charming destination.
