Steam Cooking Center

The Steam Cooking Center (地獄蒸し工房鉄輪, Jigokumushi Kōbō Kannawa) offers a unique culinary adventure where visitors can cook their meals using the natural hot spring steam for which the region is famous. Located in the Kannawa District, the center allows guests to rent steam chambers to prepare a variety of dishes, including vegetables, seafood, chicken, and rice bowls. Visitors can either bring their own ingredients or purchase pre-prepared meals ranging from 150 to 4000 yen, with most portions averaging around 1000 yen. The cooking method, known as Hell Steam Cuisine, uses the hot spring steam to enhance the natural flavors of the ingredients, offering a simple yet flavorful dining experience.

Once your meal is ready, you can enjoy it at the center’s indoor tables or on its outdoor terrace, taking in the peaceful surroundings. Guests are asked to clean their area after eating to maintain the space for others. In addition to the cooking experience, the center offers free foot baths, including a unique steam foot bath, which provides extra relaxation and rejuvenation during your visit.
