Buses from Ibusuki Station to Cape Nagasakibana run every two hours until mid-afternoon. The ride takes 40 minutes, costs 610 yen, and also stops at Yamakawa Station, Healthy Land, and Flower Park Kagoshima before continuing on to Kaimon Station.

Cape Nagasakibana
Cape Nagasakibana (長崎鼻岬, Nagasakibana Misaki) sits at the dramatic southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, offering visitors an iconic lighthouse, sweeping ocean vistas, and a scenic walking path dotted with inviting souvenir shops. The cape is renowned for its unrivaled views of Mount Kaimondake, also called “Satsuma Fuji” due to its elegantly symmetrical, conical shape that rises 924 meters above sea level. For those seeking adventure, there’s the option to hike to the summit of Kaimondake, where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular 360-degree views over the peninsula and the East China Sea.
Just a short stroll from the cape, the Nagasakibana Parking Garden delights guests with its lush tropical gardens and an array of friendly animals, including lemurs, flamingos, and monkeys—making it a favorite stop for families and animal lovers alike. If you continue north by car, you’ll reach Flower Park Kagoshima, one of Japan’s largest botanical gardens, filled with vibrant displays of exotic plants year-round. Although Cape Nagasakibana is not the absolute southernmost point of Kyushu, its stunning natural beauty, engaging attractions, and wealth of photo opportunities make it an essential stop for anyone exploring southern Kagoshima.
