Opened in 1904 and designed by Hara Sankei, the garden is a harmonious blend of nature and culture, featuring ponds, flowing rivers, seasonal flowers, and scenic walking trails. The garden's design evokes the serene beauty of Kyoto, with its carefully curated landscapes providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. The thoughtfully placed historic buildings scattered throughout the garden create a unique atmosphere, immersing visitors in the rich history and beauty of traditional Japanese garden design.

Among Sankeien's most notable attractions are its historic structures, including a reconstructed daimyo residence, several charming tea houses, and the Tomyoji Temple, originally from Kyoto. The temple features a beautifully restored main hall and a striking three-storied pagoda, offering visitors a glimpse into Japan’s architectural history.
