Buses run 1 to 3 times an hour from Miyanoura Ferry Terminal to Tsutsujiso, stopping at the Nokyo-mae bus stop in Honmura (5 minutes, 100 yen). You can also bike there in 10 minutes or walk in 35-45 minutes. Honmura has its own small port with ferries to Uno Port, though these are infrequent.

Ando Museum
The Ando Museum, located in the picturesque Honmura town on Naoshima, opened its doors in March 2013 as part of the second Setouchi Triennale. Designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando, this captivating space is an integral part of the Art House Project, a collection of unique art installations scattered throughout the town. The museum's exterior, designed to resemble a traditional residence, blends harmoniously with the local architecture, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into the charming surroundings of Honmura. As visitors approach, they encounter a sense of timelessness, with Ando’s minimalist design further enhancing the tranquil atmosphere of the town.
Inside, the museum presents a striking contrast between Ando’s signature use of concrete and the more traditional elements of interior design. The carefully curated space offers an immersive experience, with walls adorned with photographs and informative signage that provide a deeper understanding of Ando’s architectural vision. As you explore, you'll gain insight into how his work not only shaped Naoshima but also influenced the global architectural landscape. The Ando Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in contemporary art and architecture, offering a unique opportunity to connect with the artistic spirit of the island.
