Getting there

To reach Biwako Valley Terrace from Otsu, take the JR Biwako Line to Yamashina Station (5 min), transfer to the JR Kosei Line to Shiga Station (20 min), then take a 10-minute bus to the Biwako Valley Ropeway and ride up to the terrace. From Kyoto, take the JR Kosei Line directly to Shiga Station (40 min), then follow the same bus and ropeway route. By car, it takes about 30–40 minutes from Otsu and 50 minutes from Kyoto via National Route 161 or the Meishin Expressway.
