Takagiyama Observation Deck
Takagiyama Observation Deck (高城山展望台, Takagiyama Tenbodai) is one of the most peaceful places to enjoy sweeping views of Mount Yoshino’s cherry blossoms. Located deep in the Oku Senbon area, it offers a panoramic lookout point surrounded by forests and seasonal beauty. Especially in early May, when the cherry blossoms higher on the mountain are still in bloom, this deck gives you a chance to catch the last wave of sakura.
The observation deck is about a 90-minute walk from the Yoshinoyama Ropeway station, making it ideal for nature lovers and hikers. The trail leading up to the deck is quiet and scenic, with fewer crowds than the lower parts of the mountain. From here, you can see layers of pink cherry trees cascading down the slopes, framed by cedar forests and distant peaks.
