Mirai Tower (Nagoya TV Tower)
Mirai Tower, located in the vibrant Sakae district, is a prominent landmark in Nagoya and was Japan’s first TV tower when it was completed in 1954. Standing at 180 meters tall, the tower has been a symbol of the city’s growth and modernization. In 2019 and 2020, it underwent extensive renovations, which transformed it into the Chubu Electric Power Mirai Tower. These upgrades included the addition of a hotel on the lower floors, offering guests modern accommodations along with incredible views of the city’s skyline.
The tower’s observation deck, located 100 meters above ground, offers breathtaking panoramic views of Nagoya. Though it has been surpassed by Midland Square’s 220-meter deck, Mirai Tower remains a popular spot for both sightseeing and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy spectacular city views and take in the historical significance of the tower, which stands as a testament to Nagoya’s rich past and dynamic present.
