The museum is just a short walk from Sako Station, located one stop north of Nagoya Station on the Meitetsu Railway (2 minutes, 180 yen). It’s also the first stop on the Meguru sightseeing loop bus, which reaches the museum in about 10 minutes (210 yen per ride or 500 yen for a day pass). Alternatively, you can enjoy a 20-minute walk from Nagoya Station directly to the museum.

Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology
The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology (トヨタ産業技術記念館), located just north of central Nagoya, offers a compelling journey into the origins of one of Japan’s most influential companies. Housed in a beautifully preserved red-brick factory—where Toyota began as a textile machinery manufacturer—the museum traces the company’s transformation from weaving looms to world-class automobiles. Visitors can explore vast halls filled with working replicas of early textile machines, learn about the ingenuity of founder Sakichi Toyoda, and watch live demonstrations that bring early 20th-century industry to life. The building’s original factory architecture enhances the immersive atmosphere with a tangible sense of history.
In the automotive wing, the focus shifts to Toyota’s cutting-edge advancements in car manufacturing. Interactive exhibits and dynamic robotic displays explain everything from internal combustion engines to automated assembly lines. Visitors of all ages can engage with hands-on stations that reveal the science and precision behind each vehicle. English-language support is available throughout the museum, making it an ideal stop for international travelers interested in innovation, engineering, or Japanese industrial heritage. A café and gift shop are also on-site, and the museum is easily accessible by public transport from Nagoya Station.
