Nagoya City Science Museum
The Nagoya City Science Museum (名古屋市科学館, Nagoya-shi Kagakukan) is an impressive attraction, marked by its iconic giant silver globe and home to one of the world’s largest planetariums. Every month, the museum offers new astronomy programs, featuring stunning projections of stars and celestial phenomena. While the shows are in Japanese, the captivating visuals allow visitors to immerse themselves in the wonders of the universe. The museum spans seven floors, with a wealth of interactive exhibits that engage both children and adults, making science both accessible and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
Five of the museum’s floors are dedicated to hands-on, interactive displays that invite visitors to participate in experiments and demonstrations. Notable highlights include the Tornado Lab, where you can observe a massive vortex in action, and the Electric Discharge Lab, which offers dramatic lightning simulations. The Deep Freezing Lab lets visitors experience extreme polar conditions, offering a thrilling look at some of Earth’s coldest environments. Seasonal exhibitions in the basement ensure that each visit brings something new, adding variety and excitement to the experience.
