Nagashima Resort

13 of 35 in Nagoya

Nagashima Resort (ナガシマリゾート), located just outside Nagoya in Mie Prefecture, is one of Japan’s most popular all-in-one leisure destinations. Its crown jewel is Nagashima Spaland, a massive amusement park famous for its world-class roller coasters, including the record-breaking Steel Dragon 2000 and the gravity-defying Hakugei, a wooden-steel hybrid. With over 40 attractions—from heart-pounding thrill rides to family-friendly amusements—it’s a must-visit for adrenaline seekers. During the summer months, the adjacent Joyful Waterpark offers a refreshing escape with towering water slides, lazy rivers, and wave pools.

Right next door, travelers can unwind at Yuami no Shima, one of Japan’s largest outdoor hot spring complexes. Its scenic, gender-separated baths are inspired by iconic Japanese landscapes and traditional architecture, offering a tranquil atmosphere for post-ride relaxation. For those in search of retail therapy, the Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima features over 300 stores, combining high-end brands with casual fashion in a stylish, open-air setting. Just a short bus ride away, Nabana no Sato enchants visitors with seasonal flower displays, glowing light tunnels, and Japan’s most spectacular winter illumination show, making it a top photo spot year-round.
