Hashigui-iwa

1 of 6 in Kushimoto

Hashigui-iwa (橋杭岩) is a stunning natural rock formation stretching into the sea from the coast of Kushimoto. These unique stone pillars line up like bridge posts, creating a surreal and dramatic view, especially at sunrise or low tide. According to local legend, the rocks were part of an unfinished bridge built by a monk with magical powers.

Visitors can enjoy walking along the beach, admiring the symmetry of the rocks and taking breathtaking photos against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. The surrounding area also offers peaceful coastal scenery and a relaxing atmosphere, making Hashigui-iwa a popular spot for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a scenic break in southern Wakayama.
