Inazaki Observatory
The Inazaki Observatory (稲崎天文台), perched on the northern side of Zamami Island, offers some of the most dramatic coastal views in the region. To reach this secluded vantage point, visitors must embark on a one-hour hike from Zamami Port, covering approximately three kilometers. The trail winds through dense subtropical foliage and quiet forest paths, with the sound of distant waves guiding your way. Along the route, occasional openings in the trees reveal glimpses of the ocean, making the journey as rewarding as the destination.
Upon reaching the observatory, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views of Zamami’s rugged northern coastline and the endless blue horizon beyond. The area is peaceful and largely untouched, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone seeking a tranquil escape from the island’s more frequented spots. Whether you're capturing the raw beauty through your lens or simply pausing to soak it all in, the Inazaki Observatory offers a unique and unforgettable perspective on Zamami’s wilder side.
