Roppongi (六本木, literally "six trees") is one of Tokyo’s most dynamic and internationally minded districts, long celebrated for its vibrant nightlife and cosmopolitan energy. A favorite among tourists, expats, and locals alike, Roppongi is known for its wide array of bars, nightclubs, and international restaurants that cater to a global crowd. Its proximity to several embassies adds to the area’s multicultural atmosphere, making it one of the most foreigner-friendly neighborhoods in the city. Over the past two decades, large-scale urban redevelopment projects have reshaped Roppongi’s skyline and reputation. Landmark complexes such as Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown combine upscale shopping, luxury hotels, and fine dining with sleek office towers and residential spaces. These developments have helped elevate the district from a party hotspot to a polished urban destination that appeals to both business travelers and lifestyle seekers.

But Roppongi’s evolution extends well beyond nightlife and commerce—it has also emerged as a premier center for arts and culture. At the heart of this transformation is the Art Triangle Roppongi, a cultural corridor formed by three of Tokyo’s top museums: the Tokyo National Art Center, the Mori Art Museum, and the Suntory Museum of Art. Each institution offers rotating exhibitions ranging from traditional Japanese craftsmanship to cutting-edge contemporary installations, attracting art lovers from around the world. Public art displays, stylish galleries, and year-round cultural events further enrich the area’s artistic identity. Whether you're here to explore world-class exhibitions, dine at Michelin-starred restaurants, shop for designer fashion, or experience the city’s legendary nightlife, Roppongi offers a uniquely diverse and immersive Tokyo experience that blends sophistication, creativity, and global flair.
