Moerenuma Park
Moerenuma Park (モエレ沼公園, Moerenuma Kōen), located on the outskirts of Sapporo, is a stunning fusion of art and nature, designed by the renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi. This vast park features bold, modern structures seamlessly integrated into lush green landscapes. The park’s focal point is Mount Moere, which offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Another highlight is the striking Hidamari glass pyramid, an architectural marvel that houses exhibits and various public facilities. Built on a former landfill, the park underwent a remarkable transformation, officially opening to the public in 2005 as a vibrant cultural space.
In addition to its impressive design, Moerenuma Park offers numerous interactive and family-friendly attractions. During the warmer months, visitors can enjoy the Sea Fountain, which hosts mesmerizing water shows, and Moere Beach, perfect for relaxation and play. The park also features creative playgrounds and open spaces, making it an ideal destination for people of all ages. With its unique blend of art, architecture, and nature, Moerenuma Park offers a memorable experience for anyone visiting Sapporo.
