Miho Beach (三保真崎), located along the Miho Peninsula in Shizuoka, is renowned for its awe-inspiring views of Mount Fuji. This three-kilometer stretch of coastline, lined with centuries-old pine trees, offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Unlike typical sandy beaches, Miho Beach features smooth pebbles, creating a distinct and picturesque landscape. A scenic walking and cycling trail runs parallel to the shore, making it an ideal location for a leisurely stroll or bike ride while enjoying the coastal views. The northern part of the peninsula offers designated swimming areas, making it a popular summer destination for a refreshing dip in the water.

One of the most iconic attractions at Miho Beach is Hagoromo-no-Matsu, a legendary pine tree tied to a story of a heavenly maiden. The original tree, which stood for over 600 years, was replaced in 2010, but its successor continues to stand as a testament to the area's rich cultural heritage. Visitors can admire this symbolic tree while surrounded by the natural beauty of the coastline. With its breathtaking scenery, rich cultural significance, and peaceful atmosphere, Miho Beach is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Shizuoka.

I had an amazing time visiting Miho Beach. The views of Mount Fuji from the pine tree-lined shore were breathtaking! I took a peaceful walk along the beach and enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere. The beach itself is made of small stones, which gives it a unique charm, though not the sandy beach I’m used to. The walk through the pine trees was beautiful, and I loved learning about the legend of the Hagoromo-no-Matsu tree. It's easy to get there from Shimizu Station, and I also took a water bus ride, which was a fun experience. Definitely a peaceful, scenic place to relax and enjoy nature!
